Maintenance of grounds

Maintenance of the grounds goes on throughout the year, but there may be times when the grounds look untidy. If you're concerned contact us by emailing

[email protected]

When the council is digging graves, it will sometimes have to place soil and equipment on top of graves near to the excavation.

Staff take precautions and a platform protecting the grave below is built before soil is put on top. It is impractical to remove all soil and they try to leave everything neat and tidy within a short time of any burial.

The council apologises if this affects you and there is a chance that it will affect most people visiting the cemetery at some stage, particularly where there are full-sized memorials.
